'Controls' is part two of a three-part training academy that focuses on the implementers charged with implementing cybersecurity controls into an Operational Technology (OT) environment. The academy offers a wide range of information from basic, non-technical controls that should be found in every organization (regardless of industry) such as policies, and expands on them in their role in OT environments. Common devices found within an OT environment, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) are also covered to ensure the learners have a basic understanding of what these devices do, the risks associated with them, and some basic practices to safeguard them from cyber events. ‘Controls’ will aid OT implementers in understanding and securing OT components. Attendees will learn about OT landscape elements, implement administrative controls for governance and security, employ physical controls to protect assets and infrastructure and address technical controls like firewalls and encryption for OT cybersecurity. Overall, this course equips IT implementers with a comprehensive skill set to secure OT environments through a holistic approach employing different types of controls.
